Racket Care and Cleaning

Regularly cleaning the rubber surfaces of your racket prolongs the life of the rubber, it also allows you to play consistent strokes, which a clean rubber with uniform bounce and grip across its surface will produce. The best way to regularly clean the rubber surface is to use clean (distilled water in a spray bottle is a good choice) water to dampen the surface, then rub a clean, lint free sponge or cloth gently across the surface to wipe off dirt and grease. Occasionally you can use a spray cleaner available from online table tennis stores, however this may not be much better than cleaning with just water. Too frequent use of cleaner or other chemicals more abrasive than water, while better than not cleaning at all, may cause slight damage to the rubber surface.
